


Gwendolyn Holbrow has BAs in Linguistics and Studio Art, and a certificate in Children’s Book Illustration from UC-San Diego. She has worked as a graphic designer and fine artist, and taught art to both children and adults. Her published writing includes a monthly column on children and schools for the English-language city magazine of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, and art criticism for Art New England and other art magazines.
Holbrow is a member of the SCBWI and the Children’s Picture Book Critique Group at The Writers’ Loft in Hudson, MA. She enjoys working with watercolor, gouache, print and collage, and you can see her work on on Instagram and Bluesky. Her hobbies include letterpress printing, choral singing, and bluegrass music, and she loves medieval manuscript illumination. She lives in Prague, Czech Republic, where she would love to have a pet amphisbaena.
